Parents and their High Ability Student
Parents play the most important role in the development and education of their high ability student. Research is clear on the importance of parent involvement in their child’s education. It has been shown that parents are reasonably accurate on identifying their children’s behavior as above the norm and are often the ones to communicate to the teacher the characteristics and skills of their child. Raising such a child is challenging and sometimes frustrating. The more information parents have, the better parents can respond to this challenge.
