In this model, students learn about and practice the productive thinking skills and in so doing become producers of original ideas. For example, when studying the various causes contributing to the Civil War, students could use their productive thinking skills by:
Thinking of many, varied and unusual factors that contributed to the cause of the Civil War in America. After they have completed their initial list, they would look over it to see if they could add to that list to make it better.
